As a Procurement Wood-based Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement processes related to wood-based materials, ensuring a reliable and efficient supply chain for the organization. You will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of wood products to meet the company's production and operational needs. This role requires a deep understanding of the wood industry, supply chain management, and sustainable sourcing practices.
What you can expect from the role?
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers of wood-based materials.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions for procurement contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Sourcing and Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality wood-based materials.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and availability to make informed sourcing decisions.
- Source wood products through sustainable and ethical practices, considering environmental and social factors.
- Cost Management:
- Optimize procurement processes to achieve cost savings while maintaining product quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and production, to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of wood-based materials to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce carrying costs and minimize waste.
- Identify potential risks in the wood-based supply chain, such as supply disruptions, quality issues, or regulatory changes.
- Develop contingency plans and strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
- Sustainability and Compliance:
- Stay updated on environmental regulations, sustainable sourcing practices, and industry standards related to wood-based materials.
- Work towards sourcing wood products from certified and responsibly managed forests.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern.
- Generate regular reports for management, highlighting key performance metrics and procurement insights.

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 7 years proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the wood or forestry industry.
