Main Purpose of Job:
Manage and maintain weighbridge activities. The primary objectives include safety in day-to-day operations, efficient weighbridge management to ensure availability of necessary items, enhancing operational efficiency by providing quick and timely access to the weighing process, preventing shortages that could hinder the bulk delivery process, ensuring compliance with safety standards in weighbridge operations, and maintaining accurate records for reporting and analysis. Ensuring compliance with 5S in all activities at the workplace.
Key Facts / Responsibilities:
- Comply & implement company safety standards in all weighbridge areas.
- Maintain and organize delivery plans, delivery manifest/site entry documents, queue cards, and RFID cards for the weighing process.
- Keep the store area clean, well-organized, and easily accessible for efficient operations with compliance by 5S.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations for the customs house.
- Provide regular reports on delivery status, including backlogs, queue card and RFID card condition and quantity, and any other issues that may arise.
- Maintain the number of trucks in the parking area, on the queue line, and inside the smelter.
- Ensure the right trucks are entering the weighbridge by cross-checking the queue card displayed on the windshield of the truck with the numbers in the system.
- Cross-check the weight recorded on the weighbridge and the weight in SAP (for outbound copper trucks).
- Manage the copper trucks and coordinate with outbound logistics if discrepancies occur.
- Manage situations where the weighbridge is down or there is a truck breakdown inside the weighbridge.
- Manually operate the weighbridge if it is down.
- Protect inventory from theft, damage, and unauthorized access by implementing and maintaining robust security measures.
- Able to handle unexpected events, such as equipment failure or urgent demands, requiring proactive planning and problem-solving skills.
- Keep the workplace clean and safe in compliance with 5S and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Vocational high school with 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of weighbridge operations and computer operations such as spreadsheets and weighbridge software.
- Proven experience as a weighbridge operator.
- Experience in managing weighbridge queue management and spreadsheet operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Strong communication skills.
- Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
