Job Overview:
The Vice Principal will oversee the academic, student affairs, faculty development, and administrative operations of the school for one of our clients, an international private school. This leadership role requires a strong commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, and professional growth. Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Leadership
- Collaborate with the Principal to plan, implement, and assess academic programs aligned with the National Board and Cambridge Curriculum.
- Coordinate academic departments to ensure consistency and alignment across subjects.
- Support department heads in evaluating instructional strategies and curriculum effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development and review of academic policies that meet the diverse needs of students.
2. Student Affairs
- Lead initiatives to support student engagement, well-being, and academic success.
- Oversee student behavior, discipline, and foster an inclusive, respectful school environment.
- Collaborate with counselors and support staff to ensure responsive student support services.
- Lead the development of extracurricular programs that complement the academic curriculum.
3. Faculty Support and Development
- Mentor and coach teachers, enhancing instructional practices, classroom management, and student engagement.
- Lead professional development initiatives aligned with school goals and faculty needs.
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new teachers to ensure alignment with the curriculum.
- Coordinate teacher evaluations, providing constructive feedback for professional growth.
4. Community and Parent Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed about student progress and school activities.
- Support the Principal in organizing parent-teacher meetings and community events.
- Collaborate with parent groups and local organizations to support school initiatives.
- Facilitate open communication between the school and parents to foster a collaborative environment.
5. Administrative Duties
- Assist in managing the school budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support priorities.
- Ensure the implementation and consistency of school policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily administrative tasks, including scheduling and reporting.
- Act as Principal in their absence, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations.
6. Assessment and Exam Coordination
- Oversee internal assessments and prepare students for National Board and Cambridge external exams.
- Ensure faculty and students are well-prepared for the academic rigor of external assessments.
7. Teaching and Faculty Development
- Collaborate with faculty to provide instructional guidance and support high educational standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development and mentor teachers in best practices to improve student learning outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Education, School Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in an international school setting.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience (e.g., as a Head of Department or Assistant Principal).
- In-depth knowledge of the National Board and Cambridge Curriculum.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and parents.
- Experience in curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and student affairs.
- Familiarity with assessment and exam coordination for international curricula.
