Job description

The incumbent of this position executes economic diplomacy by 1) promoting entrepreneurship, 2) seeking opportunities for U.S. companies to engage in Indonesia’s infrastructure development goals, and 3) serving as the embassy’s main point of contact on sanctions and anti-money laundering. These responsibilities will entail research, analysis, oral and written reporting, public outreach, logistics coordination and liaison, and coordination work with U.S. agencies, Government of Indonesia ministries, and other Indonesian and international institutions. Other specific issues covered will be assigned based on Economic Section needs, which could cover macroeconomics, trade, finance, investment, transportation, intellectual property rights, environment, climate change, science and technology, health, and other topics.

Requirements:

All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Secret security clearance. All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam. Selected candidates must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time [4 weeks] upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Education Requirements:

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, political science, business, or international relations. Qualifications:

Experience: This position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in economics, finance, marketing, business development, social science, trade, research, or international organizations. (Please note that one credited year of working experience is equal to 40 hours/week x 52 weeks or 2080 hours.) Language: Fluent in speaking/reading/writing in English is required. This may be tested. Please address this language requirement in your ERA application.
