Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Trainer to join our Food & Beverage team. The Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs for front-line staff in all areas of food and beverage service. This includes educating employees on service standards, customer service excellence, product knowledge, and health & safety protocols. The goal is to ensure staff are well-equipped to provide an outstanding dining experience to guests, contributing to the overall success of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Development:

  • Design and implement training programs focused on food and beverage service standards, guest interaction, safety procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Create training materials, including manuals, videos, and assessments, to ensure consistent and comprehensive learning.
  • Regularly review and update training programs to reflect current trends, product offerings, and service improvements.

Staff Training:

  • Conduct hands-on and classroom-style training sessions for new hires and current staff members.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to employees, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in food and beverage service.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement.
  • Ensure all employees are familiar with the menu, specials, and drink offerings.

Quality Control:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by assessing employee performance during service.
  • Work closely with department heads to identify training needs and address performance gaps.
  • Ensure all service standards and health & safety regulations are adhered to by all staff members.
  • Foster a strong understanding of exceptional customer service, emphasizing communication, problem-solving, and attentiveness to guest needs.
  • Promote teamwork, positive attitudes, and a guest-focused environment.

Onboarding:

  • Assist with the onboarding process for new employees, including conducting orientation and introducing them to the organization's culture and policies.
  • Ensure all new hires are adequately prepared and confident to begin their roles in the Food & Beverage team.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, employee progress, and any certifications or qualifications achieved.
  • Regularly report on training outcomes, challenges, and suggestions for improvement to management.
