We are seeking driven and analytically minded individuals to join our Junior Trader program. We are looking for candidates with 2-4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, who are eager to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and global environment.
As a Junior Trader, you will play a vital role in the company’s global physical commodity trading operations. Founded in 2011, our company is a leading, fully integrated physical commodity trader specializing in energy coal within the Asia Pacific region.
We are a team of over 70 professionals with representation in 10 countries and offices in Singapore, Zug, and Dubai. We trade 15-20 million tonnes of energy and metallurgical coal annually and own a majority stake in the Callide thermal coal mine in Queensland, Australia, which produces over 9.6 million tonnes per year. Our company consistently generates annual revenues exceeding US$1 billion, maintaining high profitability with a lean operating structure.
The Role:
Initially, your focus will be on supporting the daily operations of our physical trading business. This will involve managing the end-to-end execution of physical trades and serving as a critical link between senior traders, operations teams, finance teams, external suppliers, buyers, and banks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting and negotiating coal sales and coal purchase agreements.
- Liaise with buyers and suppliers until the trade is concluded and all outstanding amounts have been settled.
- Communicate internally with traders, trade finance, and shipping departments ensuring a smooth transaction.
- Schedule laycans with suppliers and buyers.
- Arrange letters of credit from counterparties.
- Check and coordinate cargo documentation (BL, COO, LOI, etc.).
- Appoint coal surveyors at load port and discharge port.
- Prepare and finalize laytime calculations.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- 4-7 years of experience in accounting, finance, commodity trading, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, self-motivated, and a strong team player with a collaborative yet competitive mindset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to travel internationally and potentially relocate.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of coal operations and coal supply contracts.
