As the Assistant Store Manager, you will lead, develop, and motivate a team of Brand Advocates, ensuring a consistent Best in Class customer experience that aligns with our brand purpose and values. You will partner with the Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring that customer engagement, story-telling merchandising, operations, and community connection are all consistent and in compliance with company standards.

How You Will Make a Difference

Responsibilities

  1. Coach and develop staff to exceed individual and store productivity goals.
  2. Promote excellence in customer service by modeling brand specific service standards and ensuring the team is engaging with each customer.
  3. Supervise floor coverage and activities, including opening and closing the store as scheduled.
  4. In partnership with the Store Manager, provide training and ongoing development of store staff in customer engagement and all company programs, policies and procedures.
  5. Support the Store Manager in achieving all financial and operational objectives including expense control, Loss Prevention, and store audits.
  6. Assist Store Manager in the selection and hiring of qualified candidates.
  7. Partner with the Store Manager on the implementation of visual merchandising directives.
  8. Partner with the Store Manager to ensure compliance with loss prevention and safety policies.
  9. Model behavior that respects the background, experience, and cultural differences of others.
  10. Promote an environment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning.

What You Bring

Required:

  1. 3+ years of store leadership experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
  2. Ability to build, lead, and manage a high performing team.
  3. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
  4. Effective communication skills, including both written and verbal.
  5. Proven ability to meet and exceed sales results.
  6. Excellent decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Detail oriented and excellent organization skills.
  8. Proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
  9. Proven ability in delivering high level customer service.

Preferred:

  1. Experience in a specialty retail environment.
  2. Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Physical:

  1. Operate office equipment and technology.
  2. Standing required for entire work shift.
  3. Bend, lift, open and move product up to 50 pounds as needed.
  4. Use ladders for visual merchandising and light adjustments.
