Qode’s client, a US Based startup working in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) domain, is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing high-performance real-time data applications that integrate AI, IIoT smart factory technologies, cloud services, and mobile platforms. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions that drive the future of manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop scalable, high-performance software applications that collect, process, and control real-time data streams in the context of smart factories.
2. Evaluate new vendors and technologies to advance the state of the art in manufacturing.
3. Dive deep into existing industrial equipment to discover and contextualize machine and process data for consumption into a common data hierarchy.
4. Investigate opportunities for improved reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes through IIoT integration.
5. Lead IIoT connectivity projects internally or with contractors during the design, development, and deployment.
6. Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, computing environment, and system configuration problems to maintain the software link between sensors, gateways, and cloud infrastructure.
7. Collaborate with shop floor personnel, engineers, and executives.
8. Collaborate with software developers to create, deploy, and support scalable IIoT solutions.
9. Implement IIoT solutions to connect and manage factory equipment, sensors, and devices, ensuring seamless data flow and analysis.
10. Attend calls in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) from time-to-time.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. At least 5+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer in a similar field.
3. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Go.
4. Experience with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, Storm).
5. Experience with industrial protocols (e.g., OPCUA, MT-Connect, MQTT, Modbus, EIP, ProfiNet, QIF).
6. Knowledge of cloud computing services and architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including serverless computing, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices.
7. Experience in developing mobile applications (iOS, Android) and understanding of mobile UX/UI principles.
8. Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, with the ability to integrate ML models into applications.
9. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, especially in cloud and IoT environments.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
11. Effective communication skills and proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
12. Familiar with various control systems standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06.
13. Understanding of ERP, MES, and other common manufacturing software systems.
14. Experience in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
15. Experience working with agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Kanban, Scrum).
