Sous Chef

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef (Western Cuisine) to join our team at PT Unimega Utama Raya. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality Western-style cuisine for our guests. The position is based in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing all food preparation activities
• Ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional Western-style dishes
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including scheduling, staff management and food inventory
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and technique
• Liaise with suppliers to source high-quality and fresh ingredients

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-end Western restaurant or hotel kitchen
• Formal culinary training and certification in Western cuisine
• Excellent knowledge of food preparation, presentation and kitchen operations
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Passion for creating innovative and delectable Western-style dishes
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
