They are currently in a growth phase looking to scale to 200 locations in Australia, as well as internationally in the long run. Job Description
Manage new and existing franchise agreements, advising on the nuances of franchise law to the business as well as franchisees.
Ensure compliance to franchise law and company expectations of franchisees, employing a balanced approach to ensuring mutual success.
Support Leasing of sites nationally - acting on behalf of the company, but advising franchise owners on their legal options and ensure they have adequate support.
Provide legal input to strategy meetings within the company be that related to sales and operations; corporate topics.
Build relationships and engage regularly and positively with broader teams to ensure they are comfortable to ask for legal advice when necessary.
The Successful Applicant
Qualified Lawyer with unrestricted practising certificate.
Previous experience in Franchise Law and/or Leasing is preferable. If you are still new in these areas but are willing and able to learn autonomously, then please still apply.
Independent worker with ability to manage workload autonomously, and who can be trusted to deliver.
Willingness and interest in proactively developing expertise in broader areas (through exposure) to develop the position into a General Counsel is highly advantageous - but definitely not required.
Able to be on site in Fitzroy every Wednesday plus 1-2 other days (Monday or Tuesday).

Positive working environment with flexible arrangements to suit care-giver responsibilities available; as well as hybrid WFH setups. Everyone needs to be in Fitzroy on Wednesdays, but everyone works from home on Thursdays and Fridays. Additionally, Fridays finish early.
Direct exposure to C-Suite reporting to CFO whilst also working closely with CEO.
