Purpose of Role: The SHE Manager Asia will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs across Weir's operations in Asia.

By partnering with leadership and employees alike, you will champion innovative solutions that not only meet compliance and regulatory standards but also enhance our operational excellence, values, objectives, and sustainability goals.

Reporting to the Operations Manager - Asia and the Regional SHE Manager, you will manage a team of SHE BPs and coordinate the efforts of the Asian SHE team and associated regions. You will also be adept at communicating effectively and working with large teams in high-risk environments and someone who wants to own the SHE space for operations.

Location: Based in Jakarta - Indonesia, with regional travel as required to Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute SHE strategy, ensure integration of best practices, and lead the team to uphold company values.
  2. Risk Management: Conduct risk reviews, recommend mitigation measures, and ensure statutory compliance.
  3. Training & Development: Collaborate on training, foster continuous learning, and implement talent development plans.
  4. Incident Management: Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and support Workers Compensation management.
  5. SHE Promotion: Advocate for safety, health, and environmental considerations, and organize awareness campaigns.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Analyze SHE performance data, monitor compliance, and seek knowledge improvement.
  7. Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with other functions to integrate SHE considerations.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters in Workplace Health and Safety or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience in mining, manufacturing or heavy industry in a similar role.

Incident Management: ICAM Lead Investigator training or demonstrated experience in incident management.

Safety systems knowledge: Familiarity with K3 and 5S systems Interlect/Shield, Rapid Global, and Solve.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Decision Making: Able to understand expectations and translate this into deliverables and make informed decisions.
