THE POSITION
In the position of Senior Structural Engineer you are responsible for designing and engineering innovative structures for the offshore (wind) industry. You are the technical lead for our 3D modelling team, supporting offshore projects from tender, through design to implementation phase. You make an impact on the energy transition!

YOUR IMPACT
With your experience, you know how to collaborate with our 3D modelling team to come up with the best solutions for our projects.

1. Leading the development and improvement of engineering tools, work methods and procedures;
2. Technical lead in initiating cost-effective alternatives and the design of:
1. transport and installation support structures;
2. equipment for the implementation phase;
3. complete drawing package, including production supervision.
3. Coaching and training colleagues and actively developing your expertise and knowledge by identifying market trends and opportunities;
4. Support the Van Oord organization in engineering and design related challenges.

YOUR WORKPLACE
With 20 years’ proven experience and an impressive track record in constructing offshore wind projects, Van Oord is leading the way in the transition towards renewable energy. To set the new standard for the future, it is important to test and demonstrate advanced technologies. The Structural Engineering team has 18 enthusiastic colleagues, who set the new standard for our future offshore projects. Our team can be described as the technical knowledge center on foundation design for offshore wind and temporary works design. We will continue to grow the upcoming years to support the growing demand for renewable energy.
In the position of Senior Structural Engineer, you will be part of one of the Van Oord teams in Indonesia. Currently 25 people are working from the office in Cibubur, just South of Jakarta, as part of the Van Oord Engineering & Estimating Department, located in The Netherlands.

ABOUT YOU
You have the ability to translate complex matters into understandable insights. You see a challenge in project dynamics, related deadlines and you have strong communicative skills. Next to that:

1. Excellent command of the English language both verbally and written;
2. You have a completed Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with knowledge of steel structures, fatigue analysis, structural dynamics and hydrodynamics;
3. You have at least 10 years of relevant working experience in a similar senior/lead position (project environment) in the offshore or a related industry;
4. Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Structural Mechanics, Structural Dynamics and FEM software, preferably Ansys;
5. You are available for min. 40 hours per week and willing to travel regularly to our office in Cibubur (South Jakarta).
