Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Implement effective engagement programs with key central government, parliament, NGO, universities, and other stakeholders to improve understanding and to gain support.
  • Monitor and analyze legislation/regulation development/changes that are relevant to the company and provide advice and recommendations to Manager.
  • Monitor and analyze social and political developments that are relevant to the company and provide advice and recommendations to Manager.
  • Handle visits and meeting requirements for central government personnel and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and support the relevant department personnel within the company in obtaining or renewing required business and operational permits from relevant government agencies at the national/Jakarta office.
  • Coordinate with relevant department personnel to process required permitting applications and ensure timely and effective delivery to relevant government agencies.
  • Monitor and confirm permit validity or expiry status to ensure renewal applications are prepared in a timely manner to avoid non-compliance.
  • Handle inspection, verification, and other visits by the national government related to permitting and compliance requirements.
  • Support Sr. Manager Permitting and Compliance in maintaining a database of permits relevant to the company’s business and operations.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in mining engineering, environmental engineering, law management, or accounting.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in the mining industry with relevant roles; at least 5 years in Supervisor/Coordinator role as Sr Specialist Permitting.
  • Good network with key relevant stakeholders in Jakarta.
  • Understanding of local culture and language.
  • Ability to socialize with various people from different social backgrounds through sports, culture, and engagement events.
  • Good communication and presentation skills; good supervisory and leadership skills; self-motivated and disciplined under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and advanced computer skills.
  • Willing to be allocated on-site with regular working days.
