Job description

Driving Line Performance

  • Provide support and expertise to the line manager with managing their human resources requirements and maintain line employee discipline and engagement.
  • Advise plant/production line manager on resource planning options to optimise the availability of workforce vs operational demand, guarding against reliance on overtime payments.

Workforce Management: Recruitment, Workforce Planning and Union Management

  • Evaluate performance, manage salaries and wages, schedule employee vacations, provide benefits, resolve disputes and communicate with employees.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for all hiring, for both internal and external job postings, in consultation with the plant/ line management team.
  • Work with the sourcing channels to source the right candidates in line with business needs, including recruitment drives, hiring campaigns and partnerships (TVET, MBOT, internships, apprenticeships).
  • Work with Plant HR and other HR Associates/ Junior HR Associates (where applicable) to organise and schedule recruitment activities and open day events at the plant.
  • Advise hiring managers on the principles of fair and unbiased employment selection practices based on RBA Code of Conduct, local jurisdiction labour laws and relevant laws.

Skills Development: Training and Attendance

  • Manage implementation of training and learning and development needs based on production line and staff technical/skills needs.
  • Help drive the plant continuous improvement efforts (zero abnormal loss) by assisting plant management with creating effective training, development and accountability.
  • Ensure that identified successors have a comprehensive Individual Development Plan (IDP) and monitor the progression of succession planning.

HR Service Delivery

  • Support the implementation of the HR operating model to deliver HR services as set out in service management framework and in accordance with HR policies.
  • Provide support to in rolling-out employee engagement activities to motivate employees to deliver superior performance in fulfilling organisational requirements e.g. maximise safety, manufacturing, quality and customer service goal attainment.
  • Manage employee relations to ensure discipline is maintained (attendance and absenteeism is adequately managed).

Policy and Governance

  • Enforce HR policies, processes, systems and reporting activities.
  • Research and apply prevailing labour policies, employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to employment laws for foreign nationals, RBA Code of Conduct etc.

Analytics and Insights: Tracking, Reporting and Managing

  • Ensure consistent tracking and reporting of Fully Loaded Cost of HR per employee and other relevant metrics/benchmarks to industry/peers to ensure that HR spend on employees is generating ROI on employee productivity and performance.
  • Track, measure and manage levels of employee retention as well as optimum levels of average tenure amongst employees to ensure low churn and minimal disruption to operations.

Job Requirement

  • Possess Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management or any related field.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws and regulation.
  • Willing to be based at Sungai Buloh.
