Fitch's Islamic Finance Group is currently seeking an experienced analyst (at Senior Analyst level or Associate Director level) based out of our Jakarta office.

We'll Count on You To:
Based in Jakarta, you will mainly focus on monitoring the existing as well as rating new Islamic finance entities and transactions. You will cover multiple regions, and involve collecting and analyzing portfolio data, the review of legal documentation and analysis of the transaction structures as well as communication with counterparties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing and properly completing sukuk templates for new issues or when updating documentation or structures for existing related sukuk, in collaboration with the relevant team write credit analysis reports and press releases on rated sukuk transactions, research reports, and conduct analysis on industry related topics, in some cases.
- Provide support in collecting and analysing portfolio data, reviewing legal documentation, and analysing sukuk structure, as well as communicating with relevant counterparties.
- Consider the individual sukuk waterfall, as well as also review all relevant laws and regulations, legal opinions and relevant documentation.
- Assist in the development of the sukuk rating criteria, including researching, preparing and data collection, back testing, and coordinating documentation for the internal review and approval process.
- Collaborate closely with teams in cross sectors globally, that are working on Islamic institution ratings, involving selected ratings from the initial stages with the relevant analytical team.
- Attend initial calls with issuers, bankers and legal team, management meetings, help in drafting and reviewing section on Islamic finance in RC notes and attending Rating committees.
- Help in exploring and developing templates for rating Islamic finance entities (like Islamic banks and takaful companies).
- Help in developing training cross groups to support all aspects of Islamic finance.
- Conduct and maintain a database for Fitch's Islamic finance portfolio, and coordinate with relevant sectors directly or through relevant IFG member(s), as needed. This also covers developing, monitoring and updating key Islamic finance data.
- Monitor and analyse current and new regulations relating to Sukuk and Islamic Finance.
- Support team on research pieces across a range of industry-relevant topics. Help in responding to external queries from investors, bankers and other fixed income market participants.
What You Need to Have:
- Strong analytical skills and at least 3 to 5 years' experience in credit, bonds, or execution roles within financial institutions.
- Flexibility with Time Zones and availability for core meetings:
- Ability to coordinate effectively between Dubai (UAE) and Jakarta (Indonesia) time zones;
- Willingness to adjust working hours for essential meetings with the Dubai team.
- Remote Collaboration: Experience or willingness to work remotely with a distributed team.
- Effective Communication: Strong skills for clear and consistent interaction with team members across locations.
- Self-Motivation and Independence: Ability to manage tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Self-Monitoring: Competence in maintaining productivity and meeting deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong team spirit for seamless collaboration with team members.

- Credit analysis experience.
- Knowledge of the bond market, financial institutions, sukuk, and the Islamic finance sector.
- Modelling, data analysis, and accounting skills, with an eye for detail.
- Bahasa and Arabic language skills.

- Bloomberg data extraction skills.
- A first-rate academic background.
- Professional qualifications (e.g. ACA, CFA).
