Job Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible to grow and maintain the customer base in Indonesia. The position is expected to meet and/or exceed agreed business targets and personal KPIs, achieving these by business analysis, process improvement and effective communication with the General Manager Sales and Managing Director. To succeed in this role, the Sales Engineer will be a persuasive technical communicator, able to engage with customers, offer them a unique perspective in relation to our products, and readily enter commercial discussions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Sales Growth:
    Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
    Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and threats, adapting strategies accordingly.
    Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their evolving needs and preferences.
    Collaborate with the Singapore team to develop tailored strategies for customer acquisition and retention.
    Act as a primary point of contact for escalated customer inquiries or issues, ensuring swift resolution and customer satisfaction.
  2. Market Expansion Initiatives:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive outreach program to tap into new customer segments, particularly targeting OEM and electrical panel builders for high-value projects. The focus will be on expanding our market footprint and seizing lucrative project opportunities.
    Ensure customer and territory activities are in line with company growth strategy and company business plans.
    Maintain margin and revenue targets; ensure sales KPI’s are achieved or corrective actions taken.
    Ensure activities are aligned with the SEA strategy and support business objectives.
    Provide timely feedback to the Line manager on open opportunities and health of customer relationships.
    Pursue product sales to OEM, systems integrators and end-user customers across all product categories.
    Develop good knowledge of customer applications and product capabilities in order to target suitable applications.
    Independently prepare bids, understand and interpret customer specifications/tender documents, provide a technical solution in consultation with the engineering division, cost the proposed solution, prepare commercial conditions in consultation with senior management and where necessary the legal department, and submit bids in time to meet customer requirements.
    Submit offers to the Managing Director where offers exceed delegated authority.

Job Requirements:

  1. Diploma (or above) in Electrical Engineering field
  2. 3+ years’ experience in an international sales position
  3. Technical skills in relevant area are critical. Commercial experience particularly related to tendering and sales
  4. Communication skills, customer-service oriented, target oriented, Pro-active, Presentation skills
  5. Selling to customer needs, meeting sales goals, sales planning, experience in energy and/or automation industry, providing technical support, relevant market knowledge, developing budgets, ability to report accurately, user knowledge of PC and MS office
  6. Knowledge about power generation market; understanding of gen-set and combustion engines controls and protection relays markets will be an added advantage
  7. Knowledge of switchgear, panels, microgrid, automation and prior sales experience in this field is an added advantage
  8. Full training will be provided
  9. Language Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
