PROJECT MANAGER

PT. Vista Maritim Indonesia was established in January 2007 in Batam, Indonesia and since the beginning of its operation, the company has focused on the construction and building of Aluminium vessels/boats. Within the last 14 years, we have built more than 300 units of Aluminium vessels/boats for our national and international clients/customers. Some of the specific boats/vessels models include Crew Boats, Patrol Boats, Passenger Ferry, Wind Farm Support Vessels, SAR Boats and most recently, currently, it’s also building the 56m RoPax Vessel.

In 2023, through collaboration with our strategic partners, we produced and delivered 4 units of 8.5M Rigid Buoyancy Boat to meet the needs of the Indonesian Navy and in the following year of 2024, we are again trusted to provide 4 more units, using a new engine type with higher power.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee day-to-day construction management of projects.
• Monitor and report to AGM (Asst General Manager) on project progress versus baseline, including issues and risks in a timely manner.
• Conduct VSCC and take charge of ship work safety and cleanliness.
• Liaise with trades on the activities and construction effort needed to achieve progress safely, within schedule and budget.
• Plan, develop and organize the construction effort to formulate the most cost-effective plan to support schedule and cost.
• Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented.
• Review man hours and duration forecasts to completion and resource requirements.
• Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance.
• Manage schedule, cost-to-completion (CTC) and percentage of completion (POC) together with AGM (Asst General Manager).
• Conduct progress meetings to manage issues.
• Responsible for planning, scheduling and costing.
• Support in project tender when called upon or any other ad-hoc project duties as required.
• Handle warranty issues.
• Manage customer expectations at site and maintain good customer relationships.

Requirements:

• Hold a Degree in Marine/Shipbuilding/Naval Architecture from a reputable University/Institute.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years experience as a Project Manager in newbuilding or ship repairs related projects.
• Project Management skills in the following areas: Planning, scheduling and costing, Risk management, Manpower management, Customer Relationship management.
• Able to deal and communicate with people effectively at all levels on the ground, identify and manage issues, cost consciousness, and urgency to get things done.
• Familiarity with project management software such as MS Projects is a must.
• Able to work on weekends based on project needs.
• Willing to be placed at Kota Batam - Kepulauan Riau (Kepri), type of work: 6 days work week.
