Project Coordinator and Capacity Building & Partnering Coordinator (Nabire) – The Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (PASTI) Papua Project
Capacity Building and Partnering Coordinator will be the field leads in coordinating capacity building activities and coach the local champions/NGOs/FBOs/CSOs as part of the transitioning strategy. S/he will identify needs and gaps and also monitor and evaluate processes of local partner learning. S/he will report to the Team Leader. This position will get placement at Nabire, Papua.
Project Coordinator has the responsibility to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate, as well as develop the capacity of local partners, develop partnerships and facilitate the implementation of PASTI-Papua. The position will coordinate and manage the responsibilities of the hired local individual service providers as part of the local partner/champions capacity building strategy. This position will report to Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to training strategy and plan for PASTI Project based on workplan.
- Serve as a main point of contact and be a primary actor in managing the relationship between WV and one or more partner organization.
- Contribute to the preparation of the development of Project’s annual operating plan.
- Prepare the development of project research and baseline.
- Conduct monitoring, reflection and learning with the community and the program team to improve and adapt future programming.
- Develop sustainability strategy through institutionalizing the community organization.
Capacity Building and Technical Support
- Do capacity building of local partner and PASTI staffs meet highest standard by coaching system.
- Implement capacity building plans with all local partners informed by adaptive, innovative and effective capacity building methodologies.
- Promote ongoing reflection and learning among staff.
- Share lessons learned of capacity building implementation with program team, subgrantee and local government.
- Coach partners in developing their organizational development plan and ensure that necessary trainings are provided to partners as determined in the plan. If necessary, organize the trainings identified in the organizational development plan for each partner.
- Ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources, in accordance with Wahana Visi Indonesia financial policies and donor’s (USAID) requirements.
Accountability & Quality Assurance
- Closely monitor the project in regency of PASTI-Papua (quality of training, impact of training, sustainability of training).
- Closely monitor with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator to ensure activities that implement can contribute directly and indirectly to project performance indicators.
Networking & Coordination
- Actively participate in regular coordination with Program Teams (Sectoral Specialist, Team Leader, Coordinators, and Senior Program Manager).
- Actively coordinate with assisted regional government and multi-stakeholders that already identified as being able to collaborate actively and effectively to reduce stunting cases and improve nutritional status in assisted regency.
Management and Leadership
- Create enabling and positive team environment where staff are able to develop their spiritual gifts and grow in Christian maturity.
- Submit periodical/monthly accomplishment report.
- Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in and across departments.
- Contribute and support to enrich organization’s life, faith, Christian Commitments and work. Contribute to the cultivation of commitment in serving the most vulnerable children and communities we seek to serve among our staff, the Board, as well as donors/sponsors and supporters.
- Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication and relationship with internal staff and external parties.
- Aware and also mitigate all risks related to Capacity Building according to organization policies, guidelines, and standard. This includes risks in fraud, safeguarding, and other related risks.
Required Professional Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in various community training and coaching (capacity building & partnering coordinator); at least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in public health, community development, or nutrition-related projects, particularly childhood nutrition or mother-children health (project coordinator).
- Understand the government health governance model.
- Experience in developing local facilitator (village-provincial level).
- Experience working with government, multi-stakeholder, local organization with various characteristics.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in subject relevant to position (public health, development studies, social science, information management, project management etc).
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Have good networking with government counterparts at regency and familiarity with government working group of childhood nutrition such as TPPS, TPK.
- Experience in coaching and training.
- Passionate and able to work in a team.
- Proficiency in English language skills, both written and spoken, is a plus.
