Product Development Engineering Manager

Our client is a reputable multinational manufacturing company located in Cikarang.

Requirements:

• Formal Education: Product Design, Fashion Design, or any design-related field.
• Background in engineering with a passion for design is welcomed. Working Experience: Product Design or Fashion Design.
• Technical Competence: Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D software: Freeform, Rhinos, or Blender.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, leadership skills, and the ability to motivate others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with peers and manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
• As a design lead, exhibit interest and knowledge of current trends and demonstrate design excellence and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Director of Product Development.
• Partner with the Designer Team in HQ (Los Angeles) to create and discuss upcoming projects.
• Translate original sketches and define the full specifications and functional product.
• Work on fabric art creation, control drawings, and artwork for plastic part decoration.
• Conduct research on materials and trends to support the development process.
• Review and provide cost-saving ideas as required to ensure the project meets cost targets.
• Collaborate with the China and Hong Kong offices and/or outside vendors to ensure all development processes meet design expectations.
• Work with various engineering teams on-site to translate complete design requirements into practical product features.
• Present and communicate concepts to the design and other departments.
• Lead a team of product development designers that work closely with corporate design from ideation stages.
• Act as a catalyst for finding equilibrium between design and manufacturing.
• Support the transition from design ideation to manufacturing with a thorough product development process, collaborating with related functions.
• Support company goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Foster employee development.
• Find balance between design intent and manufacturing execution, requiring good knowledge of manufacturing processes, product development flow, and design prowess.
• Lead the team to work closely with design and development partners in the creative process while collaborating with the manufacturing processes team to ensure thorough buy-off.
