Job Description

Production Management

1. Oversee daily production processes to meet customer demand, ensuring adherence to quality and cost objectives.
2. Collaborate with production teams to consistently achieve quality and production targets.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

1. Ensure all dairy products meet company quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA).
2. Implement and enforce strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety protocols throughout the plant.

Team Leadership and Development

1. Lead, coach, and mentor the production team, fostering a positive and safety-focused work environment.
2. Conduct regular performance evaluations and create development plans to enhance team capabilities and productivity.

Safety and Risk Management

1. Establish and enforce safety protocols to minimize workplace injuries and ensure OSHA compliance.
2. Conduct regular safety audits, policy reviews, and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
3. Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
4. Drive process and operational improvements through initiatives leveraging methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
5. Identify and eliminate inefficiencies to enhance plant performance and cost-effectiveness.
6. Oversee improvement projects and performance metrics to sustain operational excellence.

Financial and Budgetary Management

1. Develop and manage the plant's budget, controlling costs related to labor, materials, production, and maintenance.
2. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide data-driven decisions and improve profitability.

Equipment and Facility Maintenance

1. Ensure optimal performance of production equipment through preventive maintenance and minimal downtime.
2. Coordinate with the maintenance team and external vendors for repairs, upgrades, and installations.

Cross-functional Collaboration

1. Partner with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Human Resources teams to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

Experience:

1. Minimum 10 years of experience in dairy plant management, with at least 5 years in a Plant Manager role within a dairy or similar food manufacturing environment.

Education:

1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Advanced degrees or certifications in dairy manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing are highly desirable.

Technical Knowledge:

1. In-depth knowledge of dairy manufacturing processes, equipment, quality assurance standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FDA).

Leadership Skills:

1. Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Communication:

1. Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a strong capacity to collaborate across departments and engage with all levels of management.
