Description
We are seeking a Plant General Manager – Automotive Manufacturing to lead and oversee the full spectrum of plant activities. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal day-to-day operations, driving productivity, enforcing safety and quality standards, and aligning factory performance with strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational experience in automotive or heavy manufacturing, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily factory operations with a focus on production efficiency, safety, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Optimize asset capacity and manage resource allocation to reduce costs and enhance flexibility.
- Ensure production output meets company standards and customer expectations.
- Monitor plant performance and initiate corrective actions to maintain operational excellence.
- Align plant operations with broader business strategies and growth initiatives.
- Develop and implement systems that track KPIs, productivity metrics, and return on assets.
- Foster a high-trust, performance-driven culture among plant staff; recruit, train, and develop talent.
- Oversee workplace safety, quality assurance, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Lead grievance handling, support collective bargaining agreements, and promote employee engagement.
- Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and production innovations.
Profile
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in plant operations or manufacturing leadership, preferably within the automotive or heavy industry.
- Proven experience in managing large teams and factory-scale operations.
- Solid knowledge of budgeting, strategic planning, HR, and resource management.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, inventory systems, and quality control processes.
- Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Strong people management, decision-making, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Must be willing to be based full-time at the factory in Curug, Tangerang, Banten.
