Set on a beautifully designed campus in South West Jakarta, the school offers a dynamic and supportive environment for students from Early Years through to Year 13. The curriculum blends the UK Early Years and National Curriculum frameworks in Primary with inquiry-based approaches. In Secondary, students follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and complete their studies through either the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the IB Career-related Programme (CP), developing into independent, globally-minded learners equipped for success at university and beyond.
The Role: Secondary Music Teacher (Years 7 -13)
We are seeking a dynamic, skilled, and enthusiastic Secondary Music Teacher to join the thriving arts faculty of this outstanding international school in Jakarta. This is a key teaching role within the Secondary School (Years 7 -13), delivering a diverse and engaging music curriculum to students from a range of cultural and musical backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about music education and committed to nurturing both technical proficiency and creative expression in students. You'll play an integral part in developing a well-rounded, inclusive programme that inspires students to explore music in innovative and collaborative ways.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Curriculum Delivery & Classroom Teaching
Teach Music across the Secondary age range (Years 7 -13), following the IB MYP and DP frameworks
Design and deliver lessons that are accessible, challenging, and responsive to student interests and skill levels
Integrate music theory, performance, composition, and appreciation into the classroom experience
Use technology effectively to support learning, including music composition and digital audio tools
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and language backgrounds
2. Ensemble Leadership & Co-curricular Involvement
Lead or assist with school ensembles such as choirs, bands, or orchestras
Organise and direct school concerts, recitals, and performances throughout the year
Support whole-school music events and celebrations, including assemblies and productions
Encourage student participation in co-curricular music and foster a love for performance
3. Collaboration & Professional Contribution
Contribute actively to departmental planning and interdisciplinary projects
Participate in curriculum development and assessment moderation across the arts faculty
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment with the schools IB philosophy and values
Engage in regular professional development to stay current in music education practice and pedagogy
4. Student Growth & Wellbeing
Establish strong, supportive relationships with students to foster confidence and creativity
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support musical development
Support the personal and emotional wellbeing of students through inclusive and respectful teaching
Promote a classroom culture of collaboration, respect, and international-mindedness
