Main Accountability
Operation of the wear testing and analytical characterisation equipment. This includes metallographic specimen preparation, optical and electron microscopy, operating manual testing such as ball mill and drop ball tower.
Contribute to media wear failure analyses, where required.
Contribute to the selection of (wear-resistant/chemically compatible) materials and processes for SAG, ball and regrind mills.
Contribute to R&D projects to improve grinding media wear durability and efficiency.
Coordinate and/or perform BMAT wear testing in customers’ sites in Indonesia.
Provide technical assistance for materials engineers and metallurgists, focused on new product development projects.
Contribute to the understanding of the metallurgy and wear of white cast iron and forged steel grinding media consumption phenomena by writing procedures and technical reports.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in Materials and/or Physical Metallurgy Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of physical and/or mechanical metallurgy laboratory work experience.
Fresh graduates with relevant background are welcome.
Ability to communicate in English is required.
Ability to document and present key messages to a wide group of target audiences, including written reports.
Experience in materials and metallurgical characterization methods.
