About Us

Ambercycle is a materials company founded in 2015 to create a circular supply chain for the apparel industry, making decarbonized raw materials across industry verticals. We're doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of regenerated materials in the global apparel supply chain, and reduce the use of raw agricultural and petroleum resources. Our products avoid the use of new raw materials and go into the highest quality applications, exceeding the expectations of end customers with a fraction of the environmental footprint. Our success is the result of the talent, curiosity, and drive of our people. They bring solutions every day to realize our vision to improve humanity’s relationship with the material world. Additionally, you will mentor engineers, train operators and technicians, and drive continuous improvement in mechanical and piping system performance.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the review and approval of mechanical and piping system specifications, ensuring compliance with ASME, API, ANSI, and project requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the mechanical and piping engineering team.
  • Collaborate with detailed engineering consultants and construction contractors to evaluate vendor proposals for mechanical equipment and piping systems, including 2 years’ experience with operation spare part requirements and start-up and commissioning spares.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of mechanical equipment and piping materials before installation.
  • Oversee and verify pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including hydrotesting, flushing, system integrity checks, and equipment alignment.
  • Supervise and ensure the correct fabrication, installation, and quality control of piping systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Accept and validate the handover of mechanical and piping systems from detailed engineering consultants and construction contractors, ensuring all documentation and inspections are complete.

Responsibilities

  • Witness, approve, and verify the installation of piping systems and mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with project and manufacturer requirements.
  • Develop and implement mechanical and piping maintenance strategies to enhance system reliability.
  • Supervise the installation of vibration and temperature monitoring points on rotating and static equipment.
  • Mentor and train engineers, operators, and mechanical technicians on equipment care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee pipe stress analysis, material selection, and structural integrity assessments.
  • Monitor and document critical equipment tolerances and clearances before and after repairs.
  • Track and report mechanical and piping system performance, including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical and piping system failures, collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for piping and mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate and plan daily pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with contractors, project teams, and operations.
  • Maintain and update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to reflect system modifications and commissioning activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with deep expertise in piping and mechanical system design.
  • 15+ years of engineering experience, including design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical and piping systems.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience in mechanical and piping engineering, overseeing teams and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ASME B31.3, API 570, API 682, ANSI, and relevant codes for piping and mechanical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale mechanical and piping systems for fluid and solid material handling.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Caesar II, ANSYS, or equivalent).
