Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose

Under the Production and Efficiency Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for monitoring performance and equipment availability of the plant. The Mechanical Engineer will coordinate with operations and maintenance to respond to plant production and implement quality systems and procedures to meet performance and commercial targets following engineering principles and practices.

Role and Responsibility

• Monitor and provide direct technical recommendations to the owner and O&M for operation and maintenance to maintain equipment availability for the power plant, including monitoring and improving efficiency and operation procedures.
• Prepare and distribute the Monthly Production and Efficiency Report to related departments.
• Generate the Monthly Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) report for monitoring non-available equipment and equipment vibration.
• Track actual operation running hours and preventive maintenance routine inspections and testing following the PM plan.
• Monitor water quality parameters of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and chemical dosing.
• Ensure spare parts are prepared for critical equipment and plan maintenance accordingly.
• Monitor non-functional equipment using LOTO, alarms, and site walkdowns.
• Verify and analyze reports from O&M and suggest necessary actions (Corrective and Preventive actions).
• Coordinate contract management of PPA (Billing), OMA, LTSA, and EPC contracts.
• Coordinate power plant performance tests as per specifications and pre & post-performance for plant acceptance and work instruction (WI).
• Provide recommendations for operation and maintenance inspection work, QA/QC (Inspector and Auditor) in scheduled and unscheduled activities related to technical procedures.
• Recommend specialists or experts if the operation and maintenance team cannot provide the service or lacks experience with equipment requiring special methods, considering the risk of damage to plant equipment.
• Assist in the development of yearly and monthly operating plans following the PPA contract and PLN annual plan.
• Verify spare parts requested by MPSI (Troubleshooting and Material requests), CM, PM, and Predictive maintenance reports or check sheets, including necessary redundancies to keep in the warehouse for support to the Planning and Maintenance Department.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma-4 in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 - 5 years’ experience as an Engineer in power plant operation.
• Experience in business relations between the owner and subcontractors (O&M subcontractor, vendors, and suppliers).
• Managerial and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of power plant electrical equipment.
• Capable of working in a team and coordinating with other parties.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
