Mechanical Engineer

Shiva Industries is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimisation of our aerobic digester systems. Based in Bali, Indonesia, you will play a pivotal role in developing mechanical solutions that drive efficiency and sustainability for our clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical Design & Development:
   • Design mechanical components and systems for aerobic digesters, including paddles, augers, and heat exchangers, ensuring high performance and durability.
   • Comprehension for material selection for certain applications.
   • Use CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD) to create detailed mechanical designs, conducting structural, fluid dynamic, and thermal analysis to ensure system integrity and efficiency.
   • Understand FEA or CFD simulation using CAD simulation software (e.g: Ansys).
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the design meets operational and cost requirements.
2. Prototyping & Testing:
   • Lead prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements for mechanical systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
   • Work with manufacturers to develop prototypes and optimise parts for large-scale production.
3. Construction & Supervision:
   • Provide on-site mechanical engineering support during the installation and construction phases of projects.
   • Resolve technical issues, ensure compliance with designs, and adapt to any changes required during construction.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
   • Prepare mechanical specifications, manuals, and as-built drawings.
   • Maintain comprehensive records of design calculations, material selection, and quality control.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and building industrial mechanical systems.
3. Proficient in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor).
4. Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and material science.
5. Project management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, and resources.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
7. Willingness to travel for construction oversight.
8. Proficiency in English; knowledge of Indonesian or other languages is an advantage.
