Overview of job: SEO Manager is responsible for leading a SEO project team, providing integrated search thought leadership, best practices, and innovation internally and to our clients, influencing and inspiring our people along with good communication capabilities to ensure project success and internal and external satisfaction.

Reporting of the role: This role reports to the Head of SEO. Responsibilities of the role:
Developing SEO and performance content plans with strategic thinking across multiple search platforms (search engines, social search, vertical search, etc.).
Client and team management – ensure success and satisfaction internally and externally.
Seeking pro-active opportunities that would benefit the client’s business KPIs.
Effectively delegating work to team members and ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
Manage relationships with partners & vendors – negotiation, product updates and tests, and ensure that clients and internal teams are up to date with all new features and products.
Maintaining a positive, motivating, and inspiring team culture.
Tasks & Measurement: In 3 months:
Be familiar with the SEO and performance content proposition (projects, optimization tasks, our services, tools, etc.).
Build knowledge across GroupM’s bespoke search tools and our vision/purpose, and be able to articulate services to the agency and client.
Develop relationships with all key client and agency stakeholders, as well as members within your immediate team.
Ensure work streams are being carried out to a high standard.
In 6 months:
Develop a clear strategy and roadmap for the SEO business in line with client ambitions and goals – SEO and performance content planning, operations, data, and analytics.
Support team members’ career development through regular catch-ups and organize training where needed.
In 12 months:
Have a thorough understanding of all things GroupM – awareness of how our products and services can be integrated into the Account whether in or out of scope.
Lead the strategic direction of the client account.
Develop a solid working relationship with planning teams and other function teams under GroupM and clients.
Deliver the best practices achieved in the past 12 months and share the learning & key observations on the market at team & agency level.
What you will need:
6+ years of SEO experience with at least 1+ years’ experience managing and developing a team.
Extensive experience in client communication and management, excellent time management and organizational skills, and a strong ability to handle conflicting demands.
Previous track record of delivering SEO and performance content strategies across multiple platforms (search engines, RED, Zhihu, vertical sites, etc.) that have driven and aligned to successful client business results.
Good knowledge of changes within the SEO/search industry and the latest practices and procedures.
Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
