The starting base salary range for a Manager-Business Analysis is $75,000 to $114,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and internal tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Manager-Business Analysis Overview

This position is responsible for leading a team of analysts responsible for understanding business needs and recommending solutions. Works with multiple stakeholders to understand business goals and objectives, then analyzes data and processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Oversees the development of project plans and ensures deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

Essential Duties

  • Manages business and data analytics projects and initiatives to support operations and ensure business data and reporting needs are met
  • Partners with multiple departments, business partners, and/or vendors to solicit, collect, analyze, document, and communicate business requirements based on current and future business needs
  • Analyzes data and reporting to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, draw conclusions about business operations, and suggest changes to improve performance, efficiency, quality, or compliance of operations
  • Manages process improvement initiatives and related training to assist in the implementation of identified improvements
  • Partners with IT systems and application support teams to provide long-term fixes and enhancements for recurring issues to improve operational efficiency and customer service
  • Identifies and obtains access to sources of corporate data; oversees data aggregation, analysis, and interpretation
  • Provides strategic input and decision making that affect the functional area of responsibility
  • Makes decisions on staff goals and initiatives and provides guidance and feedback to staff to improve departmental service levels and efficiency
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of the industry, specialty or field of expertise
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis tools and techniques
  • Ability to conduct requirement gathering sessions with business partners and produce well documented and compelling picture of the business need
  • Advanced understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Lean, Agile, Scrum, etc.)
  • Ability to independently analyze data, generate relevant insights, present to diverse audience, convey sophisticated findings in a clear and impactful way and perform validation across large datasets
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, oriented towards understanding the business problem and applying knowledge of technical and non-technical skill sets to solve the business problem
  • Ability to prioritize projects and team workload within time constraints
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or related experience can substitute
  • 3-5 years’ related business analysis experience including leading programs, projects and/or relationships
  • 2 or more years supervisory and/or team lead experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • 1-2 years management/leadership experience
  • Applicable certifications may be desired
