We are currently looking for an Account Payable Lead to join us. At GroupM APAC, our people are our strength, which is why fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion is important to us. As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for the comprehensive and complex Accounts Payable Management process for the business units managed within the company. You will maintain financial control to ensure accurate and timely payments to our media vendors, accounts payable related reporting, provide accounts payable analysis, and manage complex accounts processes.

Reporting of the role

This role will be reporting to the Finance Director.

In this role, your key responsibilities and goals will be:

In three months:

  • Ensure vendor SOA checking and follow up and discuss with the Finance Director for the payment schedule.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments to our media vendors.
  • Ensure payment advices related to the payments made are sent to vendors in a timely basis.
  • Lead accounts payable monthly closing and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
  • Respond to vendor queries in a timely manner.
  • Perform monthly accounts payable reconciliation between accounts payable payments processed and bank transfers.

In six months:

On top of what has been done in three months, the AP Manager will be responsible for:

  • Ensure AP is posted in a timely manner after invoices are received and supported by required documentation.
  • Maintain vendor management relationships with no complaints from vendors regarding unresponsive replies to their queries.
  • Manage complex payment schedules and substantial payment values for various media vendors and payment processing.
  • Manage weekly and monthly media payment schedules to ensure NWC target achievement.
  • Liase with internal and external audits as well as SOX audits.

In 12 months:

On top of what has been done in six months, the AP Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leverage team productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide quarterly media payments forecast.
  • Ensure invoices are posted in AP in a timely manner.
  • Maintain good vendor management and communication to ensure payments are made and avoid risk of account suspension due to late payments.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading an accounts payable department with substantial IDR value and complex vendor management.
  • Must have experience dealing with internal and external financial audits. Experience in handling SOX audits related to accounts payable organization will be an advantage.
  • High integrity, good leadership skills, as well as interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Approachable, excellent in communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Independent and highly motivated.
  • Meticulous and passionate about compliance.
