YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance Engineer job profile: The Maintenance Engineer is a professional responsible for coordinating the activities during general maintenance and routine upkeep of the company’s facilities and equipment.

The Maintenance Engineer must be ambitious, driven, confident, and determined to succeed. An excellent communicator with strong organizational, analytical skills, and problem-solving aptitude is essential.

Maintenance work must be performed effectively, and there must be a positive working relationship with the rest of the organization’s leadership.

Maintenance Engineer duties and responsibilities

1. Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities in the facilities including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance programs.
2. Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
3. Coach, mentor, train, and develop maintenance employees to meet current and future business requirements.
4. Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
5. Maintain mechanical and electrical systems of machines and buildings to ensure functionality.
6. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
7. Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
8. Manage the maintenance expenses by ensuring best practices.
9. Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
10. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
11. Build and maintain long-term relationships with contractors and service providers.

YOUR PROFILE

Qualifications and requirements:

1. Previous working experience as a Maintenance Engineer for a minimum of 5 years.
2. Hands-on experience in planning maintenance operations.
3. Solid understanding of the technical aspects of mechanical and electrical systems.
4. Applicable knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
6. Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
7. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
8. A valid Certified Maintenance credential will be considered an advantage.
9. Strong communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills.
10. Fluent written and spoken communication skills in the English language.
11. Strong problem-solving skills.
12. Understanding of engineering and design principles.
13. Ability to read, understand, and create engineering diagrams such as P&ID’s, PFD’s, loop diagrams, isometric drawings, and others.
14. Understanding of batch manufacturing processes is a plus.
