Metso is seeking a Logistics Supervisor who will be placed in Surabaya, Indonesia.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Forward planning to achieve on-time delivery requirements.
- Actively participate in promoting, supporting, and enhancing our company Core Purpose, Core Values, and Company Culture.
- Liaise with sending locations (internal and external suppliers), Logistics Service Providers, and Order Management Teams to provide quotations and freight options/solutions for shipping.
- Handle cargo arranged via PLB involving clearance in/out and understand related government regulations.
- Highlight risks where foreseeable and mitigate risks where possible.
- Mentor logistics employees by providing support and training.
- Optimize freight spend where possible.
- Work in line with the company’s global transportation framework agreements for both international and domestic freight movements.
- Involve in regular customs audits.
- Respond to and act on Order Management enquiries.
- Expedite and track shipments, focusing on critical breakdown orders – providing milestone status updates to all relevant parties (end-to-end from planning through to delivery).
- Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) and SAP for coordinating shipments from end-to-end, ensuring delivery in the most timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Obtain, check, and prepare documentation to meet customs requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with overseas and in-country regulations.
- Mitigate customs duty and utilize freight concessions where possible.
- Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans, and similar data.
- Prepare and disseminate inbound shipment reporting.
- Check and process creditor’s invoices in accordance with established timeframes and procedures.
- Adhere to the company’s global policies, procedures, guidelines, legal requirements, trade compliance regulations, and ethical standards.
WHO YOU ARE
ESSENTIAL
- Experience in a similar role.
- 5+ years of previous experience in logistics management and experience leading a team.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of international (import/export/air/ocean) and domestic (air/road) transport, customs and regulatory compliance guidelines, and knowledge in PLB operation.
- Experience in customs audits.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, positively contributing to the culture of the organization.
- Articulate, engage, and analyze situations, seeking practical solutions to drive positive outcomes.
DESIRABLE
- SAP experience is preferred.
