Legal Officer

PT Able Commodities Indonesia, a subsidiary of the Mewah Group located in North Sumatera Province, is one of the leading palm oil refineries poised to emerge as a major global provider in the palm oil industry.

We are seeking a skilled Legal Officer to provide support for our operations.

In this position, you will play a vital role in:

1. Preparing, reviewing, and drafting related corporate documents, letters, and agreements to complete the decisions from Directors or Members.
2. Fully supporting the operational needs in terms of licensing. Participating in the process of obtaining licenses and working with superiors/relevant stakeholders on the requirements.
3. Managing proper records of past decisions by having an effective reference and filing system.
4. Ensuring company procedures and policies are well informed and communicated within the entity.
5. Increasing awareness within the entity about company procedures and policies.
6. Liaising with a notary in administering and filing corporate deed exercises.
7. Carrying out legal research related to prevailing local regulations.
8. Preparing letters/notifications to government agencies for all aspects such as attending meetings, replying to government agency correspondence, etc.
9. Providing accurate documentation and information to relevant stakeholders when requested.
10. Informing/escalating government agency correspondence/information to relevant stakeholders.
11. Attending government meetings and events on behalf of the company that relate to legal matters as necessary, including maintaining relations with government officers.

What you will need to succeed in this role:

1. Bachelor's degree in law.
2. Minimum 4 years of experience in the Palm Oil industry.
3. Vast knowledge in Palm Oil Licensing.
4. Strong understanding of contract law and agreements.
5. Familiarity with environmental and land use laws.
6. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Immediate availability preferred.
