Job description

Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara is an Indonesian mining company which operates the copper and gold mining and have a long-term expected mine life followed by processing stockpiles.

To support our Quality Project team, we are looking for highly motivated and experienced professionals to fill the following position:

LEAD – QA ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENT

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

  • The Lead – QA Electrical & Instrument is responsible for ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation (E&I) systems comply with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This role oversees site-wide expansion projects and operations & maintenance activities, ensuring quality assurance processes are effectively implemented to optimize safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC plans for E&I systems in alignment with project specifications and industry standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, API, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with mining regulations, electrical codes, and instrumentation standards for all construction, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct quality inspections, audits, and tests to verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship meet contractual and safety requirements.
  • Lead investigations on non-conformities and implement corrective/preventive actions to improve QA performance.
  • Project Execution & Coordination:
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of electrical and instrumentation projects.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor performance to ensure adherence to QA/QC specifications.
  • Support the commissioning and start-up of electrical and instrumentation systems by ensuring proper calibration, loop checks, and functional testing.
  • Inspection & Testing:
  • Oversee the testing and commissioning of electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, MCC, UPS, grounding systems, etc.) and instrumentation (DCS, PLC, SCADA, analyzers, flow meters, etc.).
  • Ensure proper documentation of test results, inspection reports, and certifications.
  • Verify that all instrument calibration and electrical integrity testing are conducted as per project requirements.
  • Operations & Maintenance Support:
  • Provide QA leadership for routine maintenance, shutdowns, and turnarounds related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Develop procedures and best practices for preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) of electrical and instrumentation failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Safety & Continuous Improvement:
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to company HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
  • Participate in risk assessments, method statement reviews, and hazard identification related to E&I activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control measures in E&I systems.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field.
  • Expertise in QA/QC procedures, inspection techniques, and testing methodologies for electrical and instrumentation systems; Knowledge of power systems, control systems, instrumentation calibration, and loop checks.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IEC, IEEE, NEC, and API standards for electrical and instrumentation quality assurance; Proficiency in using QA/QC software, electrical testing tools, and calibration equipment; Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in electrical and automation systems.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage teams effectively; Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities; Good communication skills for reporting and coordination with multidisciplinary teams; Strong stakeholder management; Have financial and commercial knowledge; Strong understanding and application of risk management principles.
  • Has experience minimum 5 years working as Lead/Superintendent QA Electrical and Instrument With minimum 12 – 15 years of experience in QA/QC for electrical and instrumentation systems in heavy industry, mining, or oil & gas projects; Having leadership experience in a QA role for large-scale construction, expansion, or maintenance projects.
  • Strong background in electrical distribution systems, control systems, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial automation.
  • Experience in working with EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) firms.
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Familiarity with digital quality management tools and software.
