Lead Data Engineer

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines and data lakes.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team of data engineers is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Expertise in data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or similar.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Solid understanding of data lake architectures, including the design and management of data lakes using technologies like AWS Lake Formation, Azure Data Lake, or Google Cloud Storage.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, columnar storage systems).
• Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools such as DBT, ER/Studio, or similar.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, or custom-built pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle large datasets.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable and efficient data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.

• Oversee the integration of data from various sources, ensuring accessibility, cleanliness, and usability for analytics and decision-making.

• Design and maintain optimized data models to support reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.

• Continuously monitor and enhance the performance of data processing systems for low latency and high throughput.

• Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and deliver solutions that drive data-driven decision-making.

• Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulations.

• Mentor and lead a team of data engineers, fostering best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.

• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and introduce innovative improvements to the data systems.

• Plan and architect a scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective data lake to meet current and future data storage and processing needs.
