Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the 3D art team, ensuring we delivered high-quality assets that met the stakeholders’ requirements and the studio’s standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Art Director to define the project’s scope and goals, as well as the resources required to deliver it.
  • Work on and share 3D modeling & texturing workload with the 3D art team and monitor their progress to ensure work is of a high standard and deadlines are met.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to 3D artists to improve the quality of their work and develop their skills.
  • Identify potential issues and risks early in the project lifecycle and take steps to mitigate them.
  • Ensure that 3D assets are optimized and meet technical specifications, such as file size and polygon count.
  • Keep up-to-date with new techniques and technologies in the 3D industry and actively share this knowledge with the team.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, and addressing any technical concerns or questions they may have.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in the game development industry as a Senior, Lead, or higher-grade artist role in the game industry.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to provide team members with clear direction, guidance, and feedback.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Expert knowledge & practical experience in Blender and Substance Painter. The ability to operate Maya and 3Ds Max is a bonus.
  • Strong technical art basics and experience interacting with game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity.
  • Deep understanding of 3D asset optimization techniques and best practices for game development.
  • Passion for games and the drive to stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations.

Pluses:

  • Experience with procedural content creation tools, such as Blender Geometry Node, Houdini, and Substance Designer.
  • An active interest in the game development community, including attending events and participating in forums or online communities.
