Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance and Accounting Staff member to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily financial operations of our restaurant, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health of the restaurant through accurate financial record-keeping and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping and data entry tasks, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain and update accounting records, including journals, ledgers, and other financial documents.
  • Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable, including preparing invoices, verifying transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the Senior Accountant to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Help with the preparation of tax filings and ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial information and provide support for audits.
  • Assist in tracking company expenses and preparing financial reports for management review.
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to accounting and finance as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
