IT Contracts & Cost Controller

In this interesting and freshly created role leading the Technology team’s finances, you will assist the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to oversee Rouse’s technology spend across 13 countries.

You will be Rouse’s first ever IT Contracts & Cost Controller - this is a fresh start where you get to design the processes of Tech Finance. Enjoy working with collegial Business and Technology Leaders who genuinely respect your ability to deliver world class Tech Finance oversight.

What you’ll do

Working closely with the global Chief Information Officer (CIO) in Hong Kong, you will be responsible for:

  • IT Procurement & Vendor financial management:
    • Track vendor price increases and reconcile Vendor invoices vs contractual commitments
    • Establish and maintain the IT Contract Register
    • Oversee Contract Renewal and Legal Review, with assistance from Group Business Integrity
    • IT RFP management
    • IT Expenditure Request data validation and approval management
    • IT Recurring Bill management
    • IT Project Cost allocation oversight.
  • Work with Group Finance to facilitate IT Financial reporting, analysis, dashboards and Business Case inputs including:
    • IT Total Budget vs Actual cost
    • IT Project Budget vs Actual Project cost variance
    • IT Cost Attribution (Staff vs non-staff, RTB vs CTB, cloud vs non-cloud, by vendor, etc)
    • Assist cross-functional teams in the development of financial business cases for IT projects.
  • IT Budget preparation assistance:
    • Assist the CIO with preparing and maintaining the IT team’s multi-million dollar annual budget in collaboration with IT leadership, business stakeholders and Group Finance
    • Provide guidance and recommendations to the CIO on budget performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and improved ROI
    • Assist the CIO with implementation of IT financial policies and procedures that promote cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies within IT operations, while ensuring optimal resource allocation.

What you’ll need

  • Verbal and written English language skills.
  • Specific experience with implementing and managing vendor procurement and financial management, preferably for an IT department
  • Experience analysing spend, financial modelling and reporting, preferably for an IT department
  • Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance or a related discipline
  • Understanding of basic double-entry accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A deeply collaborative work style with a preference for respectful, productive communications
  • Whilst not essential, experience with any of the following is a bonus:
    • Developing Power BI dashboards
    • Vendor staff augmentation contract management
