Import Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary:
Import purchasing supervisor manages and coordinates the import and export process, including sourcing, procurement, delivery and customs clearance process with the responsibility for ensuring compliance with local and international regulations to meet the needs of the organization.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Sourcing - Assesses foreign suppliers of goods, analyzing their performance and satisfaction in terms of pricing, supply, quality, and delivery. Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers by contacting, visiting them and discussing products, prices, and delivery cycles. Verifies business and financial references of prospective suppliers.
• Procurement - Manage the procurement process, including ensuring timely delivery and stock.
• Compliance - Oversee regulatory and trade compliance standards, including managing regulatory submissions. Ensuring compliance with government or foreign regulations governing the receipt, documentation, and shipment of imported goods. Checking all supporting documents, such as the packing list, B/L, and AWB.
• Deliver - Oversees delivery dates, quality of production and ensure the sufficiency of product. Supervising and coordinating the activities of clearing import shipments through customs. Checking incoming goods and matching them with the packing list and purchase order.
• Payment - Negotiate payment terms with suppliers and identify preferred payment methods.
• Knowledge - Maintain knowledge of external factors that may affect the availability of goods and pricing, such as import regulations, taxes, tariffs, and political and economic situations locally and in the countries of origin.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Technical Major.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English skills. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
• At least two years of import purchasing experience, which includes trading and purchasing in foreign countries especially China and South East Asia Countries.
• Having the knowledge needed regarding the position.
• Proficient in ERP software.
• Must be able to travel internationally.
