HSE Officer

About the role

As the HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Officer at PT GIK TECH BERJAYA INDONESIA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's operations maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental protection. Based in Batam, Riau Islands, this full-time position will see you responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.

What you'll be doing

1. Developing and implementing health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
2. Conducting regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards
3. Providing training and guidance to employees on health, safety and environmental matters
4. Monitoring and reporting on the company's environmental impact and compliance
5. Investigating and documenting any incidents or accidents, and implementing corrective actions
6. Liaising with regulatory authorities and industry bodies to ensure the company remains up-to-date with all relevant legislation
7. Continuously improving health, safety and environmental performance through the implementation of innovative solutions
8. Lead to establish the site HSE Management Committee. Prepare EHS performance reports and periodically present HSE performance to the committee, propose continuous improvement initiatives, and monitor the results.

What we're looking for

1. Degree or other relevant qualification in occupational health and safety, environmental science or a related field
2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar HSE role, ideally within the manufacturing, experienced in the electronics industry is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards, regulations and laws, as well as the ability to interpret and apply them in a practical setting
4. Good understanding of international EHS management standards such as ISO14001 and ISO45001.
5. Experience in building EHS management systems from phase 0 to 1 is an asset. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health, safety and environmental management systems
6. Proficiency in data analysis and report writing, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights
7. Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement
