Job Description

This role involves heavy collaboration with the commercial team (sales, brand) and will be responsible for the promotion, product launching, and point-of-sales in both the GT and MT channels. Other responsibilities include:


Strategic Planning:

  • Developing and implementing trade marketing strategies that align with the company's goals and supporting the sales and marketing team.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to ensure the trade marketing strategies remain competitive and relevant.
  • Initiating and implementing trade marketing programs and adjusting the strategies as necessary to meet the targets.
  • Analyzing data to identify growth opportunities, areas for improvement, and leveraging the trade marketing initiatives.
  • Developing short-term and long-term plans and budgets for overall trade marketing programs to be in line with the company's objectives.
  • Identifying opportunities for new channel/market opportunities.

Brand and Category Management:

  • Ensuring the successful execution of in-store operations in both GT and MT, including product launches and promotional events.
  • Working closely with other teams (including visual merchandising) to ensure consistent brand presence across the GT and MT.
  • Coordinating closely with distributors or key partners for the distribution of promotional materials.
  • Leading category management to ensure the most optimal assortment across both GT and MT.

Leadership and Development:

  • Leading and collaborating with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Development).
  • Leading and mentoring the high-performance team and fostering a collaborative and respectful culture.
  • Executing strong internal and external communications with all stakeholders to develop clear market positioning.

The Successful Applicant

Our client is looking for a high caliber individual with an impressive track record in brand marketing, and someone with an entrepreneurial spirit. This role is only open to Indonesians who have experience working in the local market, with preference in the FMCG category. Excellent English communication in both verbal and written is a must.

Other requirements include:

  • At least 10 years of working experience in sales/trade marketing/field sales, especially within the FMCG sector.
  • Experience in MT/GT/distribution management, or experience in sales operation, with a proven track record.
  • Master's degree or MBA from a top tier business school is optional, but a Bachelor's in a related degree is a must.
  • Not title-minded, humble, low profile, and willing to roll up his/her sleeves.
  • Strong leadership with excellent influencing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in managing a large team (including sales promotion) - whether in-house or through agencies.
  • Strong ability to set clear measurable objectives, delegate responsibilities, assess, recognize, and reward performance.
  • Drive and hunger to achieve results, independent, self-starter, and initiative, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a great personality and ability to make decisions.
  • Excellent business acumen and willingness to be hands-on, and work within tight deadlines.
  • High commitment, motivation, and flexibility.
