Job description

The Head of Sales will be responsible for leading the sales team and driving revenue growth for the pharmaceutical company. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, tactics, and initiatives to achieve sales targets and maximize market share in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. The Head of Sales will oversee the sales pipeline, manage key accounts, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, distributors, and other stakeholders to drive business expansion and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to maximize performance, productivity, and engagement.
  • Establish sales objectives, quotas, and metrics, and monitor performance against targets.
  • Identify and prioritize sales opportunities, market segments, and geographic regions for growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, opinion leaders, and decision-makers in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other cross-functional teams to align sales efforts with product launches, promotions, and marketing campaigns.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and threats and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and reports to senior management, and provide regular updates on sales performance, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and company policies in all sales activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets, driving business growth, and building high-performing sales teams.
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical products, markets, and distribution channels.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and ROI.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, distributors, and industry partners.
  • Analytical skills and proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance metrics.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines.
