The Head of Pastoral at Green School Bali is responsible for overseeing and promoting the holistic well-being of students within an innovative, values-based, and sustainable-future mission-driven environment. This role includes managing student behaviour through the 'IRESPECT' values of the school, providing learning support, and facilitating language support opportunities. Responsibilities
Student Wellbeing and Support
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of students.
Behaviour Management
- Oversee student behaviour management, utilizing the 'IRESPECT' values (Integrity, Responsibility, Empathy, Sustainability, Peace, Equity, Community, and Trust) as the guiding principles.
Learning Support
- Coordinate learning support services to ensure that all students, including those with learning difficulties, have equitable access to education.
Language Support
- Oversee language support services to assist students who require additional help in language.
Professional Development and Training
- Provide professional development opportunities for faculty on student well-being, behaviour management, and inclusive education practices.
Community Engagement
- Engage with parents, caregivers, and the wider community to promote a shared understanding of student wellbeing and the 'IRESPECT' values.
Curriculum Development
- In collaboration with the Head of Curriculum and Heads of Schools, lead the development of the Social Emotional learning program.
Local Scholars Program Oversight
- Manage and organize strong connections within and externally for our local scholars and oversee the process of selection, evaluation, and information dissemination.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- At least 5 years teaching experience.
- Proven success in leading a School or major School department with a minimum of 3 years in a School leadership and management role.
- Able to pass all Indonesian legal and working permit requirements.
- Strong proven understanding of student well-being, behaviour management, learning support, scholarship student support, and language support.
Experience
- Experience in an international school setting is preferred.
- Experience with the principles of restorative practices and inclusive education.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for communication and program management.
- Experience with programme development and evaluation in an educational or social impact organisation.
- Experience in analyzing insightful research and developing associated project completion strategies.
- Experience and expertise in systems thinking / human-centred design / social impact evaluation.
- Ability and experience with leading, coaching/mentoring diverse young people and educators.
- Knowledge of and experience with practices that promote learner agency, self-direction, life-long and life-wide learning, and peer learning.
- Inter-cultural working experiences required.
Skills & Knowledge
- Project management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent and inspiring writing and communication skills in the English language.
- Experience in crisis communications and resolving complex student, parent, or educator issues through solutions-focused approaches.
- Up to date on best practices and research in their learning specialty areas.
- Excellent communication skills enabling credibility to be quickly built and strong relationships to be developed with internal and external stakeholders.
- Confidence and ability to provide expert advice through written reports, presentations and meetings.
