Korean Restaurant Head Chef

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to join our culinary team at DOEUN Korean Grill restaurant in Jakarta Pusat. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, developing innovative menus, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service.

What you'll be doing

1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff scheduling. You'll be reporting directly to the Chef owner.
2. Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
3. Train, mentor, and supervise the kitchen staff to maintain a cohesive and efficient team.
4. Collaborate with the management team to optimize operations and implement cost-saving measures.
5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate innovative cooking techniques and ingredients.
6. Maintain strict compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role.
2. Prioritizing candidates with Korean food and/or Japanese food experience. Kindly note that you will be handling non-halal food as well.
3. Formal culinary training or certification, such as a diploma or degree in Culinary Arts.
4. Proven track record of creating visually appealing and delicious menu items.
5. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse kitchen staff.
6. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle challenges in a fast-paced environment.
7. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations.
8. Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
