Furniture Engineer

Position Overview: We are in search of another passionate and experienced Furniture Design Engineer for our growing team. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the specific requirements of residential and hospitality furniture, be able to rapidly translate client photos into viable product designs, lead quality assurance procedures and policy decisions, and have a keen adherence to ASTM and CPSC guidelines for performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate closely with our sales and production teams to transform client concepts into manufacturable product via CAD drawings and 3D models, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.
2. Generate detailed parts lists from design specifications, ensuring production is streamlined and meets quality benchmarks.Ensure all designs comply with ASTM and CPSC guidelines for performance.
3. Provide feasibility reports on designs and participate in design review meetings.
4. Coordinate with supplier product development teams to ensure seamless production of designs.
5. Measure and track Quality Assurance reports and recommend course corrections.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of product development experience, specifically in a furniture manufacturer or with an American furniture designer.
3. Experience in Quality Assurance for furniture categories.
4. Proficiency in CAD and at least one 3D software suite, preferably 3DMax.
5. Strong knowledge of materials, techniques, and production processes specific to hospitality furniture and ASTM and CPSC performance guidelines.
