Mission

1. Perform the electrical discipline engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements, within time schedule and quality standards
2. Ensure a correct and timely exchange of information with all the Project interfaces
3. Implement Saipem operating guidelines in the Project

Tasks

The Engineer executes the activities within the area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements. Tasks include:

1. Development Technology know how and Commercial support
   Provide technical support
2. Feasibility
   Provide technical support
3. Bidding phase/Commercial proposal development
   
   1. Analyse and understand Tender documentation
   2. Take part in electrical system design review
   3. Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted
   4. Implement bidding methodologies, design criteria and guidelines
   5. Define and issue request for quotation and relevant Technical Bid Tabulation for items not estimated in house
   6. Coordinate material quantities and weights (MTOs) estimation
   7. Prepare bill of quantities for erection works cost estimation
   8. Support Electrical Lead to define manhours estimation
4. Project Execution (Job progress and completion)
   
   1. Review Client technical documentation and requirements
   2. Take part in definition of electrical engineering requirements
   3. Prepare Project design criteria for electrical system
   4. Define the configuration of the electrical system and the single line diagram
   5. Perform electrical system calculation and studies (e.g. power demand, load flow, short circuit, transient stability, motor starting) to define the equipment rating
   6. Prepare relay and metering schemes, protective relays coordination study and setting tables
   7. Define the functional philosophies for the electrical system control (power management, synchronization, load shedding, reacceleration and restarting) and control system architecture
   8. Prepare technical documentation (e.g. specifications, data sheets) for electrical equipment and materials
   9. Check and review technical documentation according to Project and Saipem procedures
   10. Prepare Purchase Requisitions and bids technical evaluation
   11. Perform check and review of Vendor technical documentation
   12. Provide technical support to Procurement in purchasing and to Post order in expediting and testing
   13. Develop electrical system plant design (e.g. cable routings, grounding) and substations arrangements
   14. Perform power cables sizing
   15. Define typical installation details, bulk materials selection and take off (MTOs)
   16. Define bill of quantities and prepare technical documentation for electrical system installation
   17. Define technical procedure for electrical system testing and energization
