New Product Development Specialist

On behalf of our client, a high-quality precision fasteners and engineered components manufacturer primarily for the automotive industry, we are looking for a New Product Development (NPD) Specialist. Below is a general job description for this role along with common requirements:

Position: New Product Development Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Idea Generation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, market research, and stakeholders to identify and generate innovative product ideas.
• Concept Development: Develop and refine product concepts based on market research, customer feedback, and business goals.
• Project Management: Lead NPD projects, including setting timelines, milestones, and budgets, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently.
• Market Research: Conduct market analysis, competitive analysis, and customer research to inform product development strategies.
• Prototype and Testing: Oversee the creation of product prototypes and coordinate testing and validation with target customers or users.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges in the NPD process and develop mitigation strategies.
• Budget Management: Manage the NPD budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that products meet all relevant industry and regulatory standards and certifications.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the NPD process, including design documentation, project plans, and progress reports.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze the performance of new products in the market and make recommendations for improvements or iterations.

Requirements:

• Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Typically, 3-5 years of experience in product development, project management, or a related role.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the automotive manufacturing industry and market trends relevant to the products being developed.
• Technical Skills: Depending on the products, technical skills in areas such as engineering, software development, or design may be necessary.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to create and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make data-driven decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Creativity: The ability to think creatively and generate innovative product ideas.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards, especially in regulated industries like healthcare or automotive.
• Adaptability: NPD professionals should be adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Fluent in English is a must.
• Willing to be placed in Cibitung and North Jakarta.
