Job Description

To maintain a high standard of all food preparation, service and hygiene in the respective kitchens, according to the standards required by the management. The Chinese Chef might take charge of the kitchen operation when the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef are on leave or absent from work, ensuring consistency in food quality, taste and presentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position in the culinary industry.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin.
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine, HACCP and safety standards.
  • Outgoing, creative personality, excellent communication skills, flexible working hours, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong multicultural awareness and ability to work with people from diverse cultures.
  • Great attention to detail and creativity.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Additional Information

Knowledge and Experience

  • Diploma from a reputable Hospitality Management.
  • Additional certification(s) in Food & Beverage will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing food production & culinary operations in a hotel gained from working in key cities/resort destinations globally.
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
  • High degree of professionalism with sound human resources management and business acumen capabilities.
  • Basic health and safety control course.
