Barge Master (HLV/PLV)

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Captain / Barge Master to manage the operations of a pipeline barge with a capacity of 300 personnel and gross tonnage (GT) of more than 15,000. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership in marine operations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Command and oversee all operations of the pipeline barge, ensuring compliance with international and company safety standards.
2. Manage crew operations, scheduling, and assignments for optimal productivity and safety.
3. Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of pipeline installation and related marine activities.
4. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on barge equipment and systems to ensure operational readiness.
5. Prepare and manage documentation, including voyage plans, reports, and regulatory compliance records.
6. Ensure strict adherence to environmental and maritime regulations.
7. Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders during operations, providing updates and addressing concerns promptly.
8. Lead emergency response operations and drills, maintaining readiness for any contingency.

Qualifications:

1. Valid STCW Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or equivalent) ANT 1.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Captain or Barge Master on pipeline barges or similar vessels.
3. Proven expertise in managing barges with capacities exceeding 300 personnel and GT over 15,000.
4. In-depth knowledge of pipeline installation operations and marine construction projects.
5. Familiarity with ISM Code, MARPOL, and other relevant international maritime regulations.
6. Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with dynamic positioning systems (if applicable).
2. Knowledge of local maritime regulations and practices in Indonesia oil company (PHM/PHE/BP/Petronas).
3. Proficiency in marine navigation systems and software.
4. Possess good analytical thinking, proactive, good leadership and able to work collaboratively.
5. Possess good communications and negotiation skills.
