About the role

We are seeking an experienced Product Designer with a strong focus on UI/UX design and design thinking skills to join our dynamic team. As a Product Designer, you will be working with the direct-to-consumer team and play a crucial role in providing our customers the best possible user experience in purchasing insurance.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand product requirements and explore different design solutions by applying the user-centered design process;
• Lead user research to uncover opportunities and validate designs through usability tests;
• Collaborate with the cross-functional team by creating end-to-end customer journey flows and mockups in order to visualize and share your ideas;
• Communicate and present your design solutions to relevant stakeholders effectively, and back up those decisions with qualitative or quantitative data;
• Maintain a cohesive and consistent user experience of the product across our direct-to-consumer platform, customer portal, employee benefit portal, and other products in the ecosystem;
• Leverage components in the design system and create high-fidelity mockups across different platforms for further testing and development;
• Work closely with Product Managers and partner with Business Operations and Engineering teams to bring design ideas to life;
• Visual design skills with a deep understanding of information design fundamentals such as typography, layout, and information hierarchy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, visual communication, or equivalent experience in product design;
• At least 3 years of proven experience in UX/UI design with a good understanding of design principles, user-centered design methods, and design processes; preferred experience in working in the insurance industry, in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Excellent verbal, communication, and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to frame problems clearly, bring in original ideas and approaches to solving them, and persuasively communicate the most compelling solutions;
• Critical thinking skills and a growth mindset;
• A self-starter with hands-on experience;
• Running design sprints from start to implementation is preferred;
• Proven experience in working with development and product teams; understanding of HTML & CSS, and ability to discuss possibilities and constraints with developers;
• Good portfolio showcasing a wide range of product design work including responsive website and app design;
• Deep empathy for users and a solid foundation in interaction design techniques;
• Experience working with design tools like Figma, Sketch, InVision, etc.
