Job description

Established in 1980, pioneered the production of viscose staple fibre (VSF) in Indonesia and was also the first to achieve ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certifications as well as the OEKO-TEX certification from BTTG, Europe.


The Company's modern plant situated at Purwakarta in West Java, commenced commercial production in 1986 with a modest capacity of 16,500 tpa. Through strategic investments in expansion over the years, today it has an installed capacity of over 200,000 tpa and has become the world's second largest manufacturer of VSF at a single location. The unit manufactures VSF for both textile and non-woven purposes.


The company produces a wide range of VSF in engineered specifications for textile and non-woven applications. The company also produces chemicals like anhydrous sodium sulphate and sulphuric acid. Anhydrous sodium sulphate is widely used in the detergent, glass, textile dyeing, and pulp and paper industries in the domestic as well overseas market.

Today, our client not only enjoys a dominant share of the domestic market but also caters to a whole gamut of customers in the US, Europe, Turkey, Japan, Korea, China, Morocco, Philippines, Malaysia and other global locations in textile and non-woven segments.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Analyst to join our client's team in Purwakarta, West Java.

Job Purpose:
- To ensure all analytical activities testing
- To monitor trends of all critical parameters
- To coordinate with other departments for regular reports

Job Summary:
As a Senior Chemical Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses and tests on various substances and materials to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with the research and development team to support new product development and improvement initiatives.

Job Context:
The chemical in charge lab is responsible for ensuring all analysis activities and reporting of analysis results run smoothly. Coordination with other departments for any job requirement is essential.

Key Result Areas:

A. Quality

  • Ensure the accuracy of the analysis by proper supervision of analytical activities (i.e. sampling, testing, reporting, etc.) & by performing frequent quality checks for different parameters using various tools & techniques.
  • Analyze problems related to analytical parts & eliminate them.
  • Ensure that frequency & analysis of samples received from the process are as per the agreed plan.
  • Ensure operations are carried out as per the standard operating procedure.
  • Monitor trends of all critical parameters.
  • Ensure timely preparation of analysis reports for process control.
  • Ensure systematic record generation from data by Laboratory staff & proper storage for easy retrieval.
  • Ensure the reliability of the analysis by proper checking of reagents & verifying the method of analysis.
  • Prepare & deliver reports along with specific observations if any, of the analysis carried out for further action.
  • Ensure that checklists are maintained to avoid overlooking.
  • Coordinate & control experimentation & study the results.
  • Submit final report to authority with derived conclusions & suggested actions.
  • Conduct trials & Gauge R & R.

B. Coordinating:

  • Coordinate with Tech Cell for regular reports.
  • Maintain records & documents as per ISO & other requirements for the department.
  • Proper planning & coordination with the process to understand additional analysis requirements.
  • Ensure updating of records in specified formats on a regular basis & maintain record generation system to ensure accurate record generation for Tech Cell/Other needs.
  • Ensure accurate generation of all monthly, weekly reports related to Process conditions, Process loss, MPR, etc., for Monthly Performance Review.
  • Define all potential areas of losses in the process and arrange regular monitoring of the same.
  • Coordinate with the department for minimization of losses.
  • Assist in executing ISO Internal/external and other system audits.

C. Safety:

  • Conduct TBT and IKRAR every day.
  • Report 4 unsafe actions and 2 unsafe conditions for BBSO activity every month.
  • Report a minimum of 1 near-miss every month.
  • Comply with BBSO and near-miss assigned rounds.
  • Actively participate in Safety Subcommittee/Act group activities.
  • Coordinate with BBSO Sub-committee for effective implementation of sub-committee objectives at the department level.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a chemical analysis laboratory, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical research.
  • Must be familiar with Asam Sulfat dan Sodium Sulfat.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and titration.
  • Should have worked with compliances and certification (ISO).
  • Experience with method development and validation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality control and safety standards in a laboratory setting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills.

This position is based in Purwakarta, West Java, Indonesia.
